~ Sir Henry Morgan's Interview ~

Ahoy there : Pleasure to be in a Interview with you today Sir Henry Morgan, Please take a seat! After that long few hours run from Aiora - You must be quiet tired!

* Sir Henry Morgan sits down *

So then Morgan, if its alright If I call you that?

That be fine, Roberts - most call me Sir Henry, but I answer to both

1) Please, tell us your story of Arriving to Avonmora ( Can be made up if you would like.) Were you looking for a big treasure? Some rum? Please explain...

Oi, it be a big tale to tell, but I will see if I can be brief....

I had just been "retired' as the Lieutenant Gov'nor of Jamaica. I supposed I'd twisted enough knickers in the England ol' King Charles II couldn't keep me about any more. So I took me gold and went on doin' what I do best - swap stories with me mates of me buccaneer days and play cards.

On a particular day, one mate, ol' Amos Fibbs, came by to say he had just acquired a cutter. He suggested we take 'er out for a go just for a quick run to meet up with an old business partner to acquire a bit of contraban.

I'll spare the details, but we took her out and hit a nasty little storm just north of Bermuda. When the storm cleared, we had no bearings and headed toward land.... and found a place called Caspian. After a bit of inquiry, we discovered we were no longer in the Carribbean, but in a place called Avonmora...and she be wide open for opportunity.

Since I only had the gold in me pocket and Fibbs had a ship - we started anew to build a fortune. And here we be.

A very Interesting Story!

2) What do you class yourself as in this game : Here are 4 options, pick one and explain why please : In my eyes, you are seen as a nobilist...
Merchant
Pirate
Nobilist
Privateer/Buncaneer

Well now, ye tell me what a nobilist be and we will both know! I be a profiteer - there there be a way to turn a profit, I'll do it. As for hobbies, it be rum, cards and the lovely maidens found in this fine land, although there be times I can't tell the difference between hobby and occupation.

Well that is a different Perspective...  A interesting one, none the less.

3) Now that you have told us who you class yourself to be : What are your opinions on the following? Whilst Defining them as well.
Merchant
Pirate
Nobilist
Privateer/Buncaneer

Ye be certain to classify and divide folk, Mr Roberts! I have done a bit of all of 'em. No shame in any of these activities, just be willing to pay the consequence for ye actions. I've done a bit of all of 'em meself.

I tend to think that a sailor who does what be right in his own mind and can sleep well when it is said and done be enough definition of what class of folk be here in Avonmora.

Aye ,I feel like : Different people can achieve different achievements...

4) Name a time that was a " Infamous " moment for you : For example claiming back a Ship of The Line? Leading a nation to glory?

There be quite a few - there be a time when Sir Edward Collier, Captain Dungeness and I went after the Rogue now known as Tom Lowe - oi, that was a wild one! We went out intendin' to take 'im to the waterline - when we opened up on him, we found he wasn't goin' to go down easily! It was a fun one!

There also be the time I left me guild and declared a one-person war on Spain - 5 of the most powerful enterprises in Avonmora which included Rolando and Joe Boot. I didn't come out on top, but by golly, they knew they'd been in a scrap! It be full fleets of Man of Wars and SotL's blasting and blunderin' throughout the seas. I won't be forgettin' that soon.

I would of paid to see that day when you were fighting Joe Boot!

5) Do you think a Player that has been playing for 6 - 8 Months would be able to take down someone who has been playing for a matter of years? What would you reckon they would need?

There be so many schemes one can use, it is possible - but he's gonna need resource - voodoo and gold coin - to turn a profitable venture or a successful war. And patience. Lots of patience.

6) Many consider you to be one of the ' Richest ' in the game : Not to forget a Giant : Which I must agree on, what are the secrets to your sucess?

The ability to keep more than ye spend or lose. Make ye battles short and swift as possible. Keep your trade fleets workin' and defended if possible. Not a secret, really.

Ill try this and put you to the test!

7) When was the Infamous guild of HELM actually formed? What convinced you to go along with Black Sparrow and Captain Dungeness to build such a great guild?

When we started up, there be no guilds that were pure training guilds. The idea was to get the needed schemes and strategies out there for a player to get started and keep goin'. There be many now, most improved from where we started. We still be a pure trainin' guild, workin' hard to keep national politics out of the guild and avoid guild politics.

8) Has there been any other nations in the game : Like the current " Leading Nations " as they are today : Before Such nations like Spain?

Aye - Barbados and Wales.

I would of thought it would be more, but not going to judge you!

9) What part of the game do you like the best? Socialization? Maybe a feature?

I like the fact there be so many ways to play - and to see the twists of how each player makes their way.

Ah, that is true : Although some ways to play, can potentially make you not be able to do other ways...

10) Most Important Question Of All - Do you like the Avonmora Daily News?

Aye, but of course!

That's good as if you didn't i would not be doing this interview, mwahahaha!

11) Please, since you have quiet a sum of trade ships, Tell us in your opinion of course which one is the best Trade ship to use?
Lmm?
Lrg Fluyt?
Galleon?
Howker?

The lowly howker be the king of the trade ships - best used as a rear guard for a fleet, lowerin' the bounty, yet quick and fleet enough to keep up fairly well with a Large Merchantman. She's cheap to build, can be built quick and can get a bloke started quick in the world of trade.

To me, large fluyts is : But again, your opinion is yours!

12) What do you think to the most recent development in the game, which is fishing? Does it need changing?

Oh, the only thing consistent is change, mate. Fishing be needin' some tweakin' to level it out, but I believe it be the first of other features like it that will create a new level for the merchant and trader.

13) How long has Tokelau been a Standing Nation? Since when did it Hold Aiora, as I recall it has been longer then a year...

Let's see...

After a few bribes to the gov'nor and a few well placed cannon shells, I became King on the 737th day of Avonmora. We had no ports, it just be me and Captain Dungeness at that time. We used ship taxes to start buildin' a treasury.

Black Sparrow came on a bit later, and with him, his influence brought Thorakas into Tokelau's control. When Shaydo finally came on board, his influence put Aiora in Tokelau control. That was Day 918 of Avonmora.

So, Aye, it has been a while, but not sure if it be a year or no....

Damn... A most interesting development though!

14 ) Your nation seem's to be quiet a successful one : To all those players, who want to build up there nation , what advice would you give?

Ye need a mission and focus, and settle in for a long haul. Nations take a long time to get their feet under 'em and hold their own. Nobility with a bit of pride in the flag doesn't hurt, either.

Some good advice!

15) How long have you actually been In Avonmora? Jim Hawkins has been here 4 years, judging by your Player ID you are much older then him so, how many years may i ask?

Truthfully, I have no idea how long - I know it be o'er 4 years, tho. Long time to swill rum and count swag.....

16) As a leader of a Nation and a guild, what Problems did you face when trying to build your guild/Nation : Problems such as Spy's/Diplomatist issues or Trust Issues?

Unity be the toughest challenge - lots of members will eventually divide the nation and her resources will be split into different directions. Factions start to tear at trust issues, etc. Short term visionaries start to fight with the long term visionaries and both probably would do good to meet in the middle.

The bigger the nation, the tougher it can be. The best that can happen is one side splits off and starts their own country.

Aye, I must agree - These are common Issues in every guild

17) How many Nations have you actually seen fall? As, you have been here for a while - I , myself have seen 3 Nations fell - Barbados - Wales and England, so please tell us?

Ye be talking about the major countries - there have been many smaller countries that have risen and fallen, ebb and flow, and that be more of what has happened than failed. Wales be comin' back, Barbados is still about and England will return. The USA has been the most interesting to watch, as it has a great resource in players, but no unity to get up and make an impact.

A interesting theory Indeed!

18) In wars that you were not part of : Which do you think has been the most threatening/Amazing to watch?

They all be fun to watch, either from a tavern chair or from the deck of a ship - conflict always be intriguing to behold.

Aye, but it is better if you are there in the fight!

19) How much Rum do you have in your cellar? As it has been known you have more then enough? Can I have some!?

How much? Ne'r enough. Who ever says I have more than enough must have been speaking to my wife, not me. And yes, you may as well have some, as there's ne'r enough anyway!

Nice, thank you for that i will double your Pay Check!

20) Is there any players you have ever thought that could be the best in Avonmora? Are you saddened when someone leaves/gets kicked out of the guild you are currently in?

Honestly, not always - I have said it before, there be allies and adversaries, and they should all be friends. It be a game - what saddens me is when someone takes it too seriously and "gets their guts in it."

Have fun - and there are many, many ways to do in it this game. Find that little part you like and do it, but don't take yourself or anyone else too seriously. You'll get your nose busted once in a while, and maybe even taken to the waterline. Pick yourself up, rebuild, re-plan and go at it again.

Aye, I have I fear some players never will find there true path in this game!

21) Out of all the 'BIG' players you have seen to go, such as Xepshunall, which one do you think changed Avonmora to who it is today? And would you like them back?

Every player that actively plays makes an influence on the game. I would hope all of them would be curious enough to stop by and see what has happened to this point - it has changed so much from when I first got here it's a different game. Different players make the most difference as well as the new features.

There be too many changes and too many legendary players that have left to pick one - Xepshunall, SGT Blue, Rolando, Hellfire, Horatio T Nelson, John Rackham, and the list could go on and on.

Besides, here we be, now. There be a different cast upon the stage today, and those who have left, well, thanks for everything - but we be movin' on from here.

22) Are you as some people would say 'weary' to others in your guild? Is there anybody you are weary off? You can just say yes or no...

zzzz. oh, pardon me - what was the question?

Just, so rude * Cries *

23) Would Tokelau take any more ports if they had spare gold coins? Is it likely that they will take another port?

Nay, ports be gold coin burners and requiire much to maintain. When Capt Dungeness and I started Tokelau, we had no port control in mind. Ship taxes be the main source of income for the nation. When others joined, they brought the ports with them. We nurtured them a bit and tried to keep our maintenance to a minimum, allowing to reduce ship taxes.

There be better uses for gold coin than port maintenance - such as rum reserves.

Well there is the truth from the King!

24) What do you think the future holds for Avonmora? Will the features balance between Merchants And Pirates or will one side win? Do you think any nation may ever fall?

Who cares what I think the future holds? I have no idea - features, who knows? Who wins? Those who stay at it, even after they have been beaten and burned to the waterline who pick themselves up, rebuild, re-plan and keep going will win, be they pirate or merchant. They just keep going. And yes, nations will fall. Which ones? I don't know. Why? I don't know that either.

I know it be time to go eat a bit before me next card game, mate. Refill your glass before ye leave and charge it to Hawkins - he's got more gold than Midas and won't miss it.

Will do, mate : This is the end of the Interview! Here is your pay check!

* Gives Pay Check *

It be a pleasure, Roberts! May the winds ever be in your favor!
